Privacy Policy

Eras is a single-player life-simulation game. It has no accounts, no sign-in, and no gameplay servers. We — the developer — do not operate any server that receives your gameplay data, and we do not collect, store, or sell personal information about you.
The app is free and supported by advertising, and advertising is the one part of Eras that involves third parties. This policy explains exactly what leaves your device and what does not.
What stays on your device
Everything you do in the game — your characters, saves, journals, achievements, family tree, and settings — is written to your device's standard app storage. It is never uploaded. We cannot see it, we cannot recover it, and uninstalling the app permanently deletes it.
Advertising
Ads are served by Google AdMob in interstitial, app-open, and optional rewarded-video formats. AdMob also runs a mediation auction, which means an ad may be supplied by one of Google's third-party bidding partners rather than by Google itself.
To select, deliver, and measure ads, and to prevent fraud, Google and its bidding partners may process:
- your device's advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID / iOS IDFA),
- your IP address, and a general location derived from it (typically country- or city-level, never precise GPS),
- device and diagnostic information — device model, operating-system version, language, and similar technical attributes,
- ad interaction data — which ads were shown, viewed, or clicked, used for frequency capping and measurement.
This data is collected by Google and its partners as independent controllers of that data; it does not pass through any server of ours. How Google uses it is described in Google's advertising privacy documentation and Google's Privacy Policy. Where a consent form is shown (see Your choices), it lists the specific advertising partners involved and lets you decide for each one.
App updates
Eras checks for app updates using Expo's update service. That check sends the app version, runtime version, and platform, and — as with any network request — the receiving server sees your IP address. No gameplay data, and nothing that identifies you personally, is included.
Notifications
If you turn on dynasty reminders, Eras schedules them entirely on your device. There is no push server and no device token: nothing about your reminders is transmitted anywhere. You can turn them off at any time in the app's settings, or in your device's notification settings.
Sharing
When you choose to share a life card, the app creates an image on your device and hands it to your operating system's share sheet. You choose where it goes, and it is sent by that app, not by us. Nothing is shared unless you initiate it.
What Eras does not do
- No user accounts, sign-in, or profiles.
- No analytics, telemetry, or crash-reporting service.
- No sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising beyond the ad delivery described above.
- No access to your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or precise location.
Permissions
Eras needs no sensitive device permissions to play. Two optional prompts may appear: the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt, and the notifications permission if you enable dynasty reminders. Declining either leaves the game fully playable.
Your choices
- EEA, UK & Switzerland: before any ad is requested, a consent form (Google's User Messaging Platform) lets you choose how ads may use your data. You can revisit and change that choice at any time via Settings → Ad privacy options in the app.
- iOS: the App Tracking Transparency prompt lets you deny cross-app tracking. Denying it limits ads to non-personalised delivery; the game is unaffected.
- Android: you can reset or delete your Advertising ID in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads).
- Rewarded ads are always optional — they play only when you choose to watch one.
- Deleting your data: uninstalling Eras removes everything the app has stored. Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to delete on request.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new "last updated" date.
